Teaching/Learning programs
The school programs provide teaching and learning for all students in the Curriculum areas of: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Design and Digital Technology and L.O.T.E. - Mandarin Chinese.
In preparing class and individual programs, teachers are guided by the following principles in an attempt to improve teaching and learning for all students.
• Activities which allow for higher order thinking - problem solving, decision making,
analysing, explaining and evaluating.• Building on students' experiences and interest. Learning needs to be relevant to
both present and future lives.• Linking theory to practice. Planned learning activities linked to real life
experiences.• Encouraging risk-taking and learning from errors. By working in a supportive
environment, students will benefit from the opportunity to apply their own ideas.
